MISCO Palm Abbe Digital Refractometer PA201 Collection
The MISCO Palm Abbe PA201 Digital Refractometer is a Brix Refractometer, reading on the Brix Scale of 0 to 56 Brix. Brix is a measure of sugar concentration, sucrose. One degree Brix is the equivalent of 1 gram of sucrose in a 100 gram sucrose solution. Therefore, Brix is actually the percent by weight (% w/w) of sucrose in a solution. The Palm Abbe PA201 Digital Refractometer has a range 0 to 56 Brix, a resolution of 0.1%, and a precision +/-0.1%.
It can be used for determining the sugar content in fruits, vegetables, juices, beverages, and in wine and beer making.
The Brix scale is also widely used for many non-sugar applications where people are interested in total dissolved solids. The MISCO Palm Abbe PA201 Digital Refractometer is used extensively as a base scale for measuring non-sugar fluids such as metalworking fluids, lubricants and industrial chemicals. The concentration of future samples can be easily determined by measuring the Brix value of a fluid on a refractometer and using the chart to convert the Brix reading into the required unit of measure.
The MISCO Palm Abbe PA201 Digital Refractometer is fast, convenient, and easy to use. First, always remember to zero the refractometer to the water source for each sample measured. Then place a drop or two of sample fluid in the stainless steel well and press a button. The custom-designed microprocessor delivers a nearly instantaneous readout in degrees Brix. Nonlinear temperature compensation is automatic and ensures that fluids read between 0 and 50 °C (+32 to 122 °F) are measured accurately.
